Madrid puts out to tender the provision of sports services in the CDM Francisco Fernández Ochoa. The City Council of the capital has put out to tender the provision of sports and complementary services of the sports center attached to the district of Carabanchel for an amount of 4.4 million euros. The contract is valued at 8.7 million euros and has a duration of two years from next August 1, with the option of a two-year extension.
The City Council had to extend the deadline for submitting offers after the current managers required the publication of a series of clarifications on how the new awardee could be affected by the existing collective conflict between the workers and the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) Servicios CDM Fernández Ochoa, owned by the companies Ebone and Acciona.

The object of the tender is the provision of sports and complementary services necessary for the opening, the provision of sports services, rescue and first aid sports medicine, health services, administration, collection of public prices and hygienic control- health of the facilities through cleaning actions, and the conservation and maintenance necessary for the operation of the municipal sports center.
Nowadays, the center offers services from pre-childhood to over 65s and people with disabilities, with swimming courses, dance classes, basketball, soccer, rhythmic gymnastics, roller hockey, judo, swimming, skating, tennis or volleyball, as well as zumba, triathlon, body combator functional training. The contract specifies that “although this contract for sports services is aimed at civil society as a whole, special attention must be paid to the development of sports activities for minors, people with disabilities, the elderly and others. groups that require special protection.
The center has 7,706 square meters, two artificial seven soccer fields, eight paddle tennis courts, six tennis courts and a skating rink, as well as a sports hall, a fifty-meter pool, three multipurpose rooms, a weight room and a solarium. .
The City Council chooses to tender this center because “it does not have the resources, both material and human, to develop and carry out these activities, so it is decided to contract a specialized company for its execution.”
