Adel Mechaal has been proclaimed champion of Spain in the 3,000 meters on the indoor track this evening by winning the event held in Ourense. The Palamós athlete dominated the race with authority and attacked when 600 meters were left to leave all his rivals behind and cross the finish line with a time of 8: 03.73. This is the third time Mechaal has won the men’s 3,000-meter indoor track. He had done so before in 2015 and 2018. The Palamos native will try to get the double crown tomorrow if he is able to win the 1,500-meter race.
