Michel: My journey began in Saint-Étienne. It wasn’t love at first sight, but something about the precision, the focus required, and the quiet intensity of archery resonated with me. It became more than just a hobby; it was a passion that grew stronger with each shot.

Moderator: And that passion has led you to guiding young archers at the Archers of the Young Loire.What motivates you to volunteer your time and energy to the club?

Michel: Seeing the change in these young athletes is incredibly rewarding. witnessing them discover a love for archery,build confidence as their skills improve,and learn valuable life lessons like discipline and perseverance – that’s what truly drives me.

Moderator: Its clear you find immense fulfillment in this role. But let’s be honest, volunteer work, especially for a sports club, can be demanding.What keeps you going, especially when faced with challenges?

Michel: Certainly, there are times when it’s demanding. Organizing events, fundraising, and ensuring everything runs smoothly takes a lot of effort. But the smiles on the kids’ faces, the sense of community we’ve built, and knowing we’re making a positive impact on their lives – that’s what recharges me and keeps me motivated.

Moderator: You mentioned the importance of community.How crucial do you believe strong community involvement is for the growth and success of a sports club like yours?

Michel: It’s absolutely essential. A supportive community provides not only volunteers and resources but also creates a network of encouragement for the young archers. It fosters a sense of belonging, which is vital for their growth, both on and off the range.

Michel: We want to continue expanding our reach, attracting more young people to the sport, and providing them with the best possible coaching and facilities.
