The Triple-A level will have six more games on its schedule for the 2022 Season, going from 144 to 150 games, in a campaign that will begin on April 5 and end on September 28, and this movement will take place in order to combine the activity of this level with that of MLB.
Minor League Baseball announced that their Triple-A schedule will now be 150 games this year, which will be the longest AAA season since at least 1964. The season will end on Sept. 28 instead of the first week of September. The hope is that the #MLB season still is longer.

According to reporter Bob Nightengale (of US Today), the goal of this movement is that Triple A players stay active as long as possible so they can be ready in case they are called up by an MLB team late in the season.
Originally the Triple A schedule would end on September 21, a week before the end of the MLB season, but now they will be on par to offer better options to major league teams.
When MLB began to become more involved in the problems and needs of minor leagues last year, the schedule was adjusted to a series of six games and one day off per week (as usual). It previously closely resembled the MLB schedule, with three- and four-game series and different byes spread throughout the week.
The Minor League system has generally made some changes since the winter, being the most significant that they will compulsorily give lodging to all the players after evaluating the situation of their salaries. In addition, an adjustment was made in the schedules and calendar, which reduces the series on tour. Seventh Inning
