Atlético Nacional fell 0-1 with Deportes Tolima on the fourth date of the I-2022 League. Despite the generation of attack and offensive volume of the premises, the visit was attentive to the defensive gaps and after a collective error and the virtue of Gustavo Ramírez, the Pijaos once again beat the Greens at home and before 36,204 spectators. At the end, Yeison Guzmán had equalized, but the VAR annulled the goal for being out of place.
With a large audience, the game started with tension and game concentrated in the center of the field. At minute 10, Atlético Nacional had the first approach against goalkeeper William Cuesta, but his cross shot went close to the visiting goalkeeper’s left hand post.
About the 17th minute, Tolima had approached Nacional’s goal a couple of times, the most spectacular occurred in a clash between Luis Miranda and Kevin Mier, who took the worst part for the visiting attacker. However, the central referee Carlos Betancur did not determine that the green goalkeeper had bad intentions.
At minute 23, a mid-range shot by Yeison Guzmán required goalkeeper Cuesta who sent the ball to the corner kick. With the passing of the minutes, both teams found it difficult to generate goal options, it was until the 41st minute that Tolima approached the rival goal, through a mid-distance shot by Yohandry Orozco, although the ball went wide.
At the end of the first half and after a corner kick, Nacional was very close to going up on the scoreboard, but goalkeeper William Cuesta managed to contain a shot by Jefferson Duque from the left sector.
In the complementary stage, the Paraguayan Gustavo Ramírez entered instead of Michael Rangel, the Ibagué team came out with a lot of momentum to play their game, but it was not precise. In three minutes, they had generated three approaches on Kevin Mier’s goal. Nacional responded with a couple of attacks, but needed to go deeper.
At minute 16, the Paraguayan Ramirez opened the scoring for the Ibagué team with a powerful shot from midfield, the visiting attacker took advantage of an oversight by Andrés Andrade and the exit of Kevin Mier. After the goal, Tolima used two changes, the Peruvian Raziel Garcia and Jeison Lucumí entered instead of Yohandry Orozco and Luis Miranda. Nacional made his first substitution, entering Dorlan Pabón instead of Andrés Andrade.
At minute 20, Alejandro Restrepo sent Giovanni Moreno and Álvaro Angulo onto the pitch instead of Daniel Mantilla and Danovis Banguero. The change of Mantilla did not like the fans, the former La Equidad and Patriotas was having a good game and was one of the most unbalanced.
At minute 25, a center by Yerson Candelo from the right sector, almost equalized, but the ball passed very close to the Tolima goal. Around minute 32, Nacional exhausted their substitutions, leaving Jefferson Duque and Sebastián Gómez to make way for Ruyery Blanco and Nelson Palacio.
Five minutes from the end, Andrés Ibargüen left in the middle of an ovation from the 36,204 spectators, so that Cristian Trujillo could enter.
Tolima was looking to cut time and drive their rival to despair, the pijao team was getting their business out and for the locals, time, the adverse marker and impatience were against them. Until in injury time, Yeison Guzmán took advantage of a rebound to push the ball into the back of the net. However, the referee Carlos Betancur was warned by the VAR and annulled the action due to an offside by Álvaro Angulo.
On the next date, Atlético Nacional visits Deportivo Pasto, while Deportes Tolima hosts Bucaramanga.
