The Spaniard will face the American for his return to the courts since his crowning at the Australian Open.
The Spaniard Rafael Nadal, world number 5 and winner last month of the Australian Open, his 21st Grand Slam tournament, will face the American Reilly Opelka (20th) in the 1st round of the Acapulco Open, in Begining of the next week.
It will be Nadal’s first game since his triumph in Melbourne, against one of the players in the form of the moment, finalist this Sunday in Delray Beach.
This tournament will take place in a new sports arena, capable of accommodating more than 10,000 spectators who will be able to admire five of the six best players in the world: Nadal therefore, but also the Russian Daniil Medvedev (2nd), the German Alexander Zverev (3rd) , the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (4th) and the Italian Matteo Berretini (6th).
Medvedev will play his first round against Frenchman Benoit Paire (52nd) and a clash of young rising players will pit Briton Cameron Norrie, seeded N.6, against Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
