Palma, Feb 12 Rafael Nadal ranks third in the Balearic Mid-Amateur golf championship with a total of 74 shots, 2 above par at the Alcanada Golf Club course, located in the Majorcan town of Port d’Alcúdia . The Spanish tennis player, a great golf fan and with a handicap similar to that of a professional (-1), will face this Sunday the final day of the Balearic tournament, distanced four shots from the leader Federico Páez, and two from second-placed Juan Pedro Manjón. Nadal, recent winner of the Australian Open by defeating Russian Daniil Medvedev in the Melbourne final, completed the 18 holes with 3 birdies, 5 bogeys and 10 pars. The winner of 21 Grand Slam titles – the first male tennis player to achieve it in all of history – changes his racket for golf clubs in Mallorca every time he has the opportunity to disconnect from the international tennis circuit. In the Balearic Islands Mid-Amateur championship, 96 golfers gather on the island, 14 of them women. Among those registered, former Athletic Bilbao players Aritz Adúri and Aitor Ocio stand out, who finished in 8th and 23rd positions with 78 and 83 strokes, respectively. EFE 1000336 pcl/sll/apa
