National Shooting: Coahuilenses lead the preselection

Ana Paula Vázquez and Jesús Flores Alanís lead the list of the national archery preselection in its recurve modality, the archers had a great performance in the most recent National Outdoor Championship that was held in Monterrey.

Vázquez heads the list where names of the stature of Alejandra Valencia and Aida Román appear. The ramosarizpense stood out in the National past, crowning herself in her category with a total of 1,322 points. With her sights set on the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024, she is at a great moment in her sports career.

The native of Ramos Arizpe is the current champion of the Olympic qualifying tournament (France 2019), she was also the brand new winner of the 2021 State Sports Award.

On the other hand, Jesús Flores leads the preselection of seven goalkeepers who will seek to keep a position in the official selection. The promise of Saltillo’s archery took third place in the recent National Championship, achieving 1,325 total points.

Alanís is one of the most promising archers in the Mexican youth deck. He won the silver medal at the Cali-Verde Valle 2021 Pan American Youth Games.

On Monday, both athletes will have to report with the pre-selection at the National Center for High Performance, in CDMX. It is worth mentioning that the travel expenses will be borne by the athletes themselves, as confirmed by Santiago Avitia.
