Moderator: But some critics argue that the league has become to focused on the business side, neglecting player safety and other vital issues. What’s your take on that?
Parcells: There’s always going to be that tension in pro sports – business versus player welfare. It’s a balancing act, and you can never make everyone happy. But I do think Goodell and the owners need to be mindful of player safety.
This game is tough, physically demanding. We need to ensure we’re doing everything we can to protect these young men.
Moderator: Speaking of player welfare, the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement with the players union runs until 2030. how do you see the relationship between the league and its players evolving in the coming years?
