It certainly cannot be considered as a Nintendo Direct the one staged yesterday evening February 9th: the traditional appointment with the announcements of the Japanese brand has revealed a large number of novelties and among these there are two that stand out as Switch Sports which collects the legacy of the very popular Wii Sports targeting casual gamers with different sports mini games as well Mario Strikers Battle League Football which brings football back to the world of Super Mario and its characters.
Already booked as a probable best-seller capable of breaking records, Switch Sports takes up the spirit of Wii Sports (which was sold together with the previous console) offering a series of mini games to engage the whole family. It starts with tennis, bowling, chanbara (martial art with stick-like swords), volleyball, badminton, golf and even football with the possibility of attaching the joy-con (which will be used as the wiimote at the time) on the ankle to take penalties in a realistic way. Miis will be used and multiplayer games will also be available. The release is scheduled for April 29.
Speaking of football, the discipline returns to the world of Super Mario with Mario Strikers: Battle League Football which will arrive on June 10 with 5 vs 5 challenges and connecting up to eight players with a single console. Of course, it’s not a realistic simulation, but pumped by the elements of the saga with superpowers, special equipment and much more.
Among the other novelties there are two new action titles with the so-called “musou” Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes which will arrive on June 24 and above all Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expected in September, the multiplayer shooter Splatoon 3 with a particular cooperative mode with salmon as protagonists that will arrive in the summer.
