Surprise in the skeleton: young star Hannah Neise wins the gold medal for Germany. The driver is only 21 years old.

It is a historic victory for the only 21-year-old Hannah Neise. Germany has never been able to reach the gold medal in the women. It is also the first participation in the Olympic Games for the woman from Sauerland. World Champion Tina Hermann was on bronze until the last run, but fell back to fourth place. Teammate Jacqueline Lölling, silver medalist from 2018, finished sixth.

The silver medal went to Jaclyn Narracott, bronze went to Kimberly Bos of the Netherlands. Germany could already celebrate in the men’s competition on Friday: Christopher Grotheer won the men’s competition.
