The IOC stresses that federations “should take into account the violations of the Olympic Truce by the governments of Russia and Belarus and give absolute priority to the safety of athletes,” the statement said in a statement on Friday.
“In addition, the IOC Board urges that international sporting events not yet included in the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) list of sanctions against Russia for implementing a national doping program should not use the Russian or Belarusian national flag or play the Russian or Belarusian anthem.”
The Olympic Truce began seven days before the opening of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing and will continue until the end of the Paralympic Games in the Chinese capital.
