Michal Frydrych is currently kicking in Wisła Kraków, Poland, but he has experienced the peak of his career in Slavia Prague. He recalled his engagement in a red and white jersey in an extensive interview for the Slavia Fans website.
Michal Frydrych had a firm position under coach Jaroslav Šilhavý. In January 2018, however, Jindřich Trpišovský arrived and the blond stopper suddenly played less and less. Preference was given to Michael Ngadeu and Simon Deli.
Of course, it was not easy for Frydrych to get used to the position of substitute, but unlike others, he did not collapse. Many players had a problem with that, especially foreigners. Alexander Balut or Yusuf Hilal fell into oblivion.
“Especially the beginnings under coach Trpišovský were difficult for me. I suddenly found myself on a bench, which was not easy to try. I tried to be ready to jump in and show what’s inside me. A lot of players didn’t make it at the time, and they came for a lot more money than I came then. “ Frydrych told Slavia Fans.

But when it seemed that Frydrych could be a stable member of the basic lineup after a year and a half, David Hovorka came from Liberec. He seized the first chance behind the scenes, when together with Ondřej Kúdela they significantly helped to advance through Cluj to the Champions League.
“From the beginning, it was not easy, the coach began to bring in other typologically other players, especially a physically and athletically strong team. Compared to coach Šilhavý, it was quite a drastic change, “ continued the defender of the Polish Wisla.
Whether he played under Trpišovský Frydrych little or not, he will not forget the Champions League. Especially at the match at Camp Nou, where he got a chance in the starting lineup instead of the injured Hovorka. You already know the result.

In the end, the coaches decided for me and to this day I am very happy with how we managed it in Barcelona, ” added Frydrych.
