The Seattle Mariners have signed Patrick Weigel to a minor league deal, according to MLB reporter Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America.
The right-hander had elected minor league free agency at the end of last season after being cut from the Milwaukee Brewers‘ 40-man roster in August.
Weigel, 27, is best known for the early days of his career in the Atlanta Braves‘ farm system. Baseball America ranked him among the top 10 prospects in baseball in 2016, but his development has been slow.
