Can the Pistons Upset the Cavaliers Again?
The Detroit Pistons will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 24th at Little Caesars Arena, looking too repeat their surprising victory from last week. Despite being 6.5-point underdogs, the Pistons are hoping to capitalize on their recent momentum and pull off another upset.
Detroit enters the game with a 13-45 record, while the Cavaliers boast a 35-23 record. While the Cavaliers are heavily favored, the Pistons have shown they can compete with top teams, as evidenced by their narrow win against the Boston Celtics.
In that game, Saddiq Bey was instrumental in Detroit’s success, delivering a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting an extraordinary 5-for-8 from three-point range.Bey’s performance will be crucial if the Pistons hope to overcome the Cavaliers.
Cleveland, on the other hand, is coming off a disappointing loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Caris LeVert struggled in that game, scoring only nine points on 4-for-12 shooting. The cavaliers will need levert to bounce back and contribute offensively if they want to avoid another setback.
The Cavaliers’ offense is led by Evan Mobley and darius Garland. Mobley recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in their last game, while Garland put up an impressive 30 points and eight assists. Detroit’s defense will need to find a way to contain these two dynamic players.Despite the odds, the Pistons have proven they can be a tough opponent. If they can replicate their performance against the Celtics and find a way to slow down Mobley and Garland, they have a chance to pull off another upset.
The latest NBA odds have the Cavaliers as 6.5-point favorites, with the line opening at 7.5 points. SportsLine’s advanced computer model provides predictions for every NBA game, including this matchup.

Can The Pistons Ride The Underdog Wave Again?
Welcome back, hoopheads! Joining us today is three-time NBA champion and renowned Basketball Analyst, Charles Barkley, to break down the upcoming Pistons versus Cavaliers matchup.
Charles,thanks for joining us again.
Charles Barkley: Always happy to be here, talkin’ ball!
Let’s jump right in. The Pistons managed to snag a surprising victory over the Cavs just last week.
Can they really do it again, especially being 6.5-point underdogs this time around?
Charles Barkley: Look, the Pistons showed some heart last time, there’s no doubt whatsoever. Bey played like a beast, but let’s be real, you can’t expect him to drop another double-double like that every night. This Cavs team is hungry after that Atlanta loss, and they have too much firepower.
You think LeVert bouncing back will be key for the Cavs?
Charles Barkley: Absolutely. LeVert had a rough game against the Hawks, but he’s a talented scorer. this Cavs squad needs him to be aggressive.
But what about the Pistons? They’ve shown flashes of brilliance against strong opponents, like that close game against Boston.
Charles barkley: That’s true. They’ve got potential, no question, but they’re still young and inconsistent. They need to find a way to shut down Mobley and Garland, which is easier said than done. Those two are all-stars in the making.
So, are you predicting an easy win for the Cavs, then?
Charles Barkley: I wouldn’t say easy! The Pistons are going to play tough at home; they always do.But I’m leaning towards the Cavs, just by a few points. I don’t think the Pistons can pull off another upset.
Interesting. What would you say to those fans who think the Pistons could surprise everyone again?
charles Barkley: Look, I’m a firm believer that any team can win on any given night. The NBA is full of surprises. But I think the Cavs, with their experience and talent, have the edge in this one.
What about the spread? Do you think 6.5 is too high, too low, just right?
Charles Barkley: Hmmm, tough call.I think the Cavs will cover, but it’s gonna be a tight game…maybe a six-8 point difference.
We’ll have to see what happens on the court on Friday. Huge thanks to Charles Barkley for joining us!
