There was no electricity in the Bochum stadium for around half an hour before the breakdown could be repaired during the game against FC Bayern.

There was a power outage in the VfL Bochum stadium shortly before the Bundesliga game against FC Bayern Munich kicked off. After almost half an hour, when the game was already running, everything worked again.

The well-known VfL anthem “Bochum” by Herbert Grönemeyer was missing before kick-off, the line-ups could not be announced and the sales stands for food, drinks and fan articles had to stop working.

Power failure in Bochum fixed in the 18th minute of the game

According to the association, a complete power failure in the Grumme district of Bochum was to blame. Normal conditions were only restored in the 18th minute of the game.

At that point it was already 1-1 after goals from Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski and Bochum’s Christopher Antwi-Adjei.
