Pep Guardiola appeared at a press conference before Manchester City’s match against Everton and analyzed the war situation in Ukraine and Oleksandr Zinchenko, captain of the Eastern European country’s national team.
“We have personally spoken with him. Although it’s not easy, Aleks is an incredibly strong guy.. He has been brilliant in training. He is ready to play if necessary”, affirmed the ‘cityzen’ coach.
“It’s a concern. In the country where he was born they are killing innocent people. How are you going to feel? I guess that’s how he feels. The club is close to him. Of course he has our support, we are living together every day and he knows we are here. He has our unconditional support.”Guardiola said.
Pep was questioned about Zinchenko attending a rally in favor of Ukraine. “What would you do if someone from abroad attacked the UK? How would you feel? That’s how it feels. All over the world there are many, many wars. Always the innocent pay the price, a terrible price for the decisions of one or two people. Perhaps we will not learn from past situations,” Pep said.
