For the first time in its history, Asvel will participate in the final tournament of the Adidas Next Generation, the Euroleague under-18 competition.
The young troop led by Pierre Parker (and the former NBA draftee, Paccelis Morlende) actually won the ANGT tournament in Belgrade this weekend, beating the host team of Etoile Rouge in the final (80-73) thanks to crazy ending. The Villeurbannais effectively held Etoile Rouge to 0 points in the last five (almost six) minutes of the match to win on the wire thanks to Killian Malwaya on 22 points, the future MVP of the tournament.
It must be said that with 20 points on average at 68% shooting success, plus 5 rebounds, 1 interception and 1 against (for 19.8 at the evaluation), Killian Malwaya was the spearhead of the team. French throughout this international tournament, which notably saw the debut in the coaching of the Greek legend, Vassilis Spanoulis.
Athlete already above the lot, Killia Malwaya did a lot of damage on his attacks from the circle and on the game in percussion in general.
