El Rancho beat Globo 73-66 in a very intense match and scored its third victory in the Federal League. Raúl Salvatierra was the figure of the field.
Ramos Mejía LTC added its third consecutive victory in the Federal League after defeating Huracán de San Justo 73-66 at home and was temporarily the only leader in the FeBAMBA division. Pivot Raúl Salvatierra was decisive in the match with a roster of 25 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks and a rating of 45. While point guard Alen Mansilla stood out in the visit with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
In a game of great streaks for both teams, Ramos knew how to make the biggest difference in the third quarter, where he broke the game with a 17-2 run. The hosts entered the last quarter with a 22-point lead (54-32) and were able to withstand the attacks of Huracán, who scored more goals in ten minutes than in the remaining three periods (34).
From the start, Ramos was able to capture the physical difference in the low post with Salvatierra and Sebastián Sevegnani (12). Their defenders, Javier Sánchez and Ramiro Vieites, were quickly charged with fouls and had to leave, which conditioned the game. The local took advantage and went 25-17 in the first quarter.
Those from San Justo showed tenacity and complicated the transfer of Ramos’ point guards with suffocating pressure to stay in the game. With Mansilla in the lead and some triples by Tiago Ortega, Huracán was on the prowl. But Ramos appeared fully in the third quarter. Santiago Yaskulka began to warm up the hand, Facundo Kaneshiro showed imbalance in one on one and Salvatierra sealed the boards. Hurricane dried up and only scored a double in ten minutes.
Perhaps relaxed by the difference of 22 points, Ramos had a shock in the final quarter. Hurricane went out to burn the ships and stole several balls that ended in kickback points. It did not reach the final effort of Mansilla and Román Trovato, who led the visiting reaction.
In general terms, Leandro Genovese’s team made the hierarchy of their most experienced players weigh, but they will have to lower the number of losses (17). The important thing for the Rancho was the victory that allows him to remain as the sole leader until Los Indios catch up.
Ramos will have a free date next week while Huracán will host Gimnasia y Esgrima de Villa del Parque.
