Ramsar 2047 site walk carried out in Meoqui

Meoqui.- Under the framework of the commemoration of the Tenth Anniversary of the Ramsar Site 2047 Wetland, the Municipal Government of Meoqui headed by the architect Miriam Soto, carried out a tour of the San Pedro River, in which the mayor and her officials, apart from enjoy the variety of flora and fauna, they cleaned the area to make the population aware of protecting and preserving the habitat.

“The name given to the Wetland is not only a number, we have a natural wealth that few municipalities have, more and more people are getting involved and learning about the great biodiversity that exists here, on this important date we wanted to do this so that the citizens really know its importance and help us take care of it, every day we have people who clean, but this is the responsibility of each one of the Meoquenses and people of the region who visit our San Pedro River to keep it clean and take care of the habitat”, This was expressed by the municipal president during the tour on her social networks.

In turn, the architect Miriam Soto indicated that the municipality’s Ecological Police expanded its surveillance tours to have greater protection in the area and added: “I ask you to be responsible citizens and also vigilant, that if you see something that should be reported, we Let the 911 emergency number know.”

Likewise, the mayor thanked Dr. Abelardo Rodríguez and Ing. Martin Parga for leading the tour, where in addition to cleaning the habitat, the architect photographed the birds that inhabit the wetland.

The Ramsar Walk 2047 in Meoqui was carried out with the measures issued by the Secretary of Health in the face of the current contingency, which is why only a small group carried out the activities, which were controlled by the Civil Protection and Fire Departments, Security Public and Rural Development and Ecology.
