SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- The national senior basketball team is already defined for the Second Window of the 2023 Basketball World Cup Qualifier, which will have alternate venues in Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan.

The manager Melvyn López announced this Thursday that the final squad will be made up of a select group of veteran and young players of great value to the aspirations of the team from Quito to extend their positive winning streak from 2-0 to 4-0.

The Dominican roster is made up of Captain Víctor Liz, Eloy Vargas, Sadiel Rojas, Gelvis Solano, Andrés Feliz, Ángel Luis Delgado, Rigoberto Mendoza, Juan Guerrero, Juan Miguel Suero, Ángel Núñez, Adonis Henríquez and Luis David Montero.

López made his final selection after concluding training this Thursday at the Palacio de los Deportes Professor Virgilio Travieso Soto.

The Dominican squad will play against Canada on Saturday, February 26, and against the Bahamas on Sunday, February 27, both matches starting at 6:00 in the afternoon, at the Palacio de los Deportes.

“These players have a lot of value for the aspirations of the national team and we count on them,” López exclaimed.

The Dominican Republic has a 2-0 record and will look to improve to 4-0 if they win against Canada and the Bahamas.

“We are going to seek the path to our third consecutive participation in a Basketball World Championship, after attending Spain 2014 and China 2019,” said López.
