The athletes who will represent Tijuana in the state stage heading to the CONADE 2022 National Games are ready for the start of the competitions after receiving the city’s banner this Thursday at the flag ceremony that took place at the Fausto Municipal Auditorium Gutierrez Moreno.A total of 850 athletes will compete in 29 different disciplines in order to earn a place in the state selection that will represent Baja California in the national event, which this year will have the 29th state of the Mexican Republic as its main venue.
During the ceremony, the outstanding athlete who presented the Tijuana banner was the fencer Natalia Botello, who among her palmares highlights having been junior world champion in 2017, six-time junior world medalist and junior Pan American champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Botello, who also won the 2017 National Sports Award, the 2017 and 2020 State Sports Award, as well as the Municipal Sports Award in 2017 and 2018, was enthusiastic during the event attended by government authorities, presidents of associations and leagues , athletes, the media and the general public.
The disciplines in which Tijuana athletes will compete are Chess, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, 3×3 Basketball, Handball, Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Diving, Fencing, Association Soccer, Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline Gymnastics, Judo, Wrestling Associated, Swimming, Roller Skating, Racquetball, Softball, Taekwondo, Tennis, Shooting Sports, Archery, Triathlon, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.
