The Italian Marcell Jacobs, surprise Olympic champion in the 100 meters in Tokyo last August, makes his comeback in competition on Friday in Berlin in the 60 m indoors, after having recently had to respond to suspicions of doping aroused by his gold medal . The 27-year-old sprinter has not set foot on a track in competition since his two triumphs in Tokyo, in the 100m and with the Italian 4x100m relay. Jacobs stunned the athletics world by winning the Olympic 100m title in 9 sec 80/100 (European record), just three months after dropping below ten seconds for the first time in his life.
