The match began with Rubene taking an early lead, with Laura Gaugere, Emīlija Salaciete, and Samanta Bērziņa finding the back of the net. Elīna Dīce managed to pull one back for the Bulldogs, but the second period saw the home team rally, with Dīce and Elīna Strauss leveling the score at 3-3.
