Deportivo Cali lost 0-2 against Millonarios, for date 6 of the I-2022 League at the Cali Stadium in Palmaseca. The ‘ambassador’ team controlled the game better and took advantage of the few clear options to score goals with Diego Herazo from the penalty spot and Eduardo Sosa.

The first half began with a good intensity of collective play and an interesting offensive proposal from both Cali and Millonarios, in which each one had their moments to generate danger, but without good definition to break the zero on the scoreboard.

With the passing of the minutes, each team continued to play its game, the ‘sugar bowls’ looking for a more vertical intention with more presence on the right side and the ‘ambassadors’ with more pause at times in the middle of the field, to have more support in the field of Cali.

When the locals seemed to be closer to scoring where they even had a shot at the post by Kevin Velasco, the visit improved and at the end of the initial part they got a penalty for a foul by Sebastián Leyton on Daniel Ruíz. Diego Herazo charged and Guillermo De Amores could not stop it for the 0-1 in favor of those led by Alberto Gamero.

For the second half, both teams made changes to their payrolls to improve functions within the field. Cali proposed again trying to tie the game with a header by Ángelo Rodríguez that did not go well. As the game progressed, Millonarios was able to better control Cali’s outbursts and once again had a presence near the goal defended by De Amores.

At minute 63 the Verdiblancos lost a ball at the start, Millonarios recovered, Daniel Ruíz enabled Eduardo Sosa who got between the central defenders and defined very well against De Amores who managed to touch it, but not to deflect the 0-2 of the albiazul team that wore white.

The night became increasingly dark for Cali, at minute 69 Aldair Gutiérrez was expelled with a direct red card, who came out with his foot raised and managed to touch Daniel Ruíz, so the central judge John Ospina did not hesitate and showed him the red cardboard.

In the final moments, Millonarios was able to control the match much better, despite Cali’s offensive intention, and managed to add their third victory in the league, while those led by Dudamel continue without raising their heads in the league in which they added their fifth defeat in six Departures.

On the next day, which will be during the week, Cali will visit Deportivo Pasto at the Libertad Departmental Stadium, while Millonarios will host Águilas Doradas at El Campín.
