Argent-sur-Sauldre. Modernized archery competition for 70 archers. The Cher archery championships took place last weekend at the Belle team gymnasium in Argent-sur-Sauldre, organized by the Flèche d’Argent club. The youth categories opened the competition on Saturday, followed by the adult categories on Sunday.
They were seventy archers, including eight Argentinians, to participate in this indoor competition, held in application of barrier gestures, that is to say about thirty less than in normal times, probably due to the Covid.
Three Argentinian archers at the regional championship
A novelty was nevertheless put in place on this occasion. This year, in addition to the manual marking of the points at each end, a digital tablet at each target makes it possible to obtain a real-time ranking.
It was the Cher archery committee itself that commissioned Christophe Dupin to implement this new process. A new initiative that all the archers seemed to appreciate.
Among the Flèche d’Argent shooters participating in the competition, Margot Rousselière (youngest recurve bow), Gil Meunier (senior 2 barebow) and Daniel Letourneau (senior 3 compound bow) will defend the colors of the Argentinian club at the regional championship , next weekend, in Chambray-lès-Tours (Indre-et-Loire).
