Karl Geiger defended his yellow jersey at the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lahti, Finland. The Olympic bronze medalist on the large hill finished fifth in the first competition after the Winter Games on Friday. His teammate Markus Eisenbichler, who finished fourth and missed third place by just 0.1 points, did even better. Team Olympic champion Stefan Kraft from Austria secured the day’s win ahead of Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud. In the overall World Cup, Geiger extended his lead, the Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi came in seventh.
The women competed in the team competition in Hinzenbach, Austria. Without the Olympic second Katharina Althaus, who tested positive for the corona virus, the DSV women in the cast of Luisa Görlich, Selina Freitag, Josephin Laue and Anna Rupprecht only came fifth.
