Sportivo Pilar beat Hunting and Fishing in its home debut

In its return to La Liga Federal after more than a decade, Sportivo Pilar, before its packed La Caldera, beat a tough Caza y Pesca 77-67.

The start was messy and stuck, perhaps the nerves did not allow Rojo de Pilar to put into play the circuit that gave him so much revenue last Wednesday vs. El Talar. The closing of the first quarter was a very low 9-10 for the visit.

The second boy had nothing different. Tiburón de Torcuato, led by Koleff and Rabazano plus the energy of Vega, took the game to their advantage. Sebastián Silva tried and rotated without results, a couple of hits by Hunting and Fishing led to the close of the 1st Half 27-32 for the visit.

The start of the 3rd quarter was something else. The energy and young blood of Coronel, País, Rodríguez, Cáceres and Petruzzi, plus the push of the people in La Caldera (which at that moment reached almost 40 degrees) put the Red in play and at 6:05 they went ahead 40- 39. Then it was all goal by goal, successes and errors on both sides, but the Red began to flow.

The closing was almost all of Sportivo, managing the game with the intelligence Nicolás Medina, the power of Franco Petruzzi and the runs of Joaco Rodríguez, reaching the maximum of 14. El Tiburón continued fighting and approached by three at 3:32 but a double and foul by Petruzzi and a bomb by Cáceres from the corner sentenced the night.

As in the old golden days of TNA in the 90’s, La Caldera returned to being La Caldera de Pilar and Sportivo returned to victory against his people.
