Rodríguez and Petruzzi, young promises of the red, analyzed what was the first week of the League and what is coming for Pilar’s cast.
The new red blood was decisive for the victory of Sportivo Pilar in the debut. Joaquín Rodríguez and Franco Petruzzi led the performance of the team led by Sebastián Silva. Joaco finished as the game’s top scorer with 20 points (in addition to 6 rebounds and 3 recoveries), while Franco contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds.
“With all the people, with all the boys we grew up here, my friends, my family. It is a dream come true”, Rodríguez defined the post-victory climate in a packed and deafening stadium at times. “Being able to be playing this tournament is very exciting. We work a lot for this. We have played here since we were little and we give everything, every day for the club. Very happy for the victory, because we needed it and we got through a very difficult match”, he added.
“You felt tired, we came from a very close game 48 hours before. The youth helped to go out to eat the second half. Perhaps in the first half we lacked a bit of running and playing our game. Luckily we reacted in time and were able to pull it off”, she analyzed.
After analyzing the match, Joaco mentioned some of the upcoming goals: “The idea is to continue growing as a team, playing a little better every day and being able to give everything to live up to what the Federal League demands, taking advantage of the experienced players that we have”.
The other great figure and decisive factor in the final stretch was Franco Petruzzi, who pointed out: “At the beginning it was difficult, they were intense in defense, it was difficult for us to reach the goal, but we were able to pull it off”. Regarding his performance, he pointed out: “Against Talar I had open and comfortable shots, which I converted. Against Hunting and Fishing I didn’t find them, I had a difficult first half and I was able to recover in the second half to give my best”.
While the feeling of winning in a Federal League with the club where he was formed, he described: “Sharing the field with teammates with whom you played all the inferiors, a Federal, even in your club, is a giant emotion. I am very happy with the group that was put together”.

This week the squad will have a free date, their next game will be on Saturday 02/19 visiting Hebraica, and then on Wednesday 02/23 they will host Sportivo Escobar.
