Among these offers, we find JKC Capital, the investment company of Canadian John Chayka (32 years old). According to our information, the former general manager of the Arizona Coyotes hockey team (he was the youngest manager in NHL history at the time but left the club in 2020) wants to acquire a majority stake in Standard, along with American Jared Porter, former scouting director of the Boston Red Sox (a baseball team that belongs to the same owner as Liverpool Football Club).
The two men, who had visited the Liège facilities a few weeks ago and who attended Standard – Club Brugge on January 23, want to take over the day-to-day management of the club. They visited several Western European clubs but were charmed by the passion that surrounds Standard and the club’s history. Besides the fact that they directly want to be active in the transfer market, the Academy and women’s football would be at the heart of their project.
