Magical Thursday in George (South Africa) for Adrien Saddier, author of a superb 63 (-9) on the Outeniqua course of the Fancourt Golf Estate. The Haut-Savoyard shares the lead in the tournament with New Zealander Daniel Hillier, who was also brilliant on The Links Course. David Ravetto grabs 31st place at -3 after his inaugural 69.
Adrian Saddier did not miss the great debut of the 2022 season of the Challenge Tour this week in South Africa. On the par 72 of the Outeniqua Course du Fancourt Golf Estatethe route visibly the most accessible of the three in play in this Dimension Data Pro-Am (with The Links and Montagu), the Haut-Savoyard signed a huge 63 (-9) without the slightest bogey on the horizon.
Well launched with two birdies on his first two holes, Saddier subsequently made almost no mistakes, managing as often as possible to place his ball close enough to the flags to find himself regularly in a position to improve his scorecard. A paying strategy since after a go in 33 (-3), the French slammed an impressive 30 (-6) on the return with in particular four birdies in a row between 14 and 17.
« I am very happy to find the gamehe underlined at the exit of the recording at the microphone of the Challenge Tour. It had been so long. I haven’t played since October. I became a dad during this period… So it was ideal for me to share these moments with my family. There, I feel fresh and available… And now, I have a new supporter at home, so it’s rather nice! »

So here he is in the lead with the New Zealander Daniel Hillier64 (-9) on the par 73 of The Links, a course that Adrien Saddier will precisely challenge this Friday before tackling the Montagu Course on Saturday, considered the most difficult of the splendid site of Fancourt which had hosted the Presidents Cup in 2003. The cut will thus take place after 54 holes before a last scheduled round again on the Montagu Course.
The twelve other tricolor representatives have, alas, not experienced such a bright Thursday. David Ravetto however manages to play 69 (-3) on the Outeniqua. The Racingman is 31st on the leaderboard. You then have to go beyond the 50th place to find Jeong weon Ko and Mathieu Fenasse (51st at -2), just ahead Jérôme Lando-Casanova (75th to -1).
