MADRID, 26 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Spanish tennis player Pedro Martínez has reached the final of the tournament in Santiago (Chile), in the ATP 500 category, which is played on clay, after beating the local Alejandro Tabilo (5-7, 6-4, 6-4), while that Albert Ramos was left at the gates of playing it after falling to Argentine Sebastián Báez (6-4, 4-6, 6-2).

The Valencian, 24 years old and number 72 in the world, succumbed in the first set after giving up his service three times -for two of his rival-, and was forced to come back in the next two sets.

Despite the Chilean taking a 3-0 lead in the second set, Alzira’s man managed to break Tabilo’s serve twice to balance the contest, which turned in his favor with two new breaks in the last set.

Thus, he will be measured for his first ATP title with the Argentine Sebastián Báez, number 78 in the ATP ranking and who defeated Albert Ramos in a match that lasted two hours and 34 minutes.

Ramos, winner in Córdoba three weeks ago, will not be able to play his second final of the season after a match that only became unbalanced in the last round, when the Argentine stepped on the accelerator to the bottom. A break in the second game was key to ‘separate’ the Catalan from the match.

The Barcelonan stayed alive until the eighth game, when he gave up his serve again and Báez confirmed his pass to the final in Santiago, the first of his career on the circuit.
