This new regulation also affects the quota for the Asia zone which has jumped to eight slots, from previously only four slots.
The addition of the Asian zone slot will certainly increase the opportunity for the Indonesian national team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup which will be held in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
