The deer will have to defend their IBF champion belt against Jesse Opetay, an Australian compete. The fight will take place on Wednesday, April 6, in Australia. An official announcement of the fight and venue is expected next week, reports Australian boxing manager and wrestling commentary Ben Deimon.

The IBF had determined that the Battle of the Deer and Opatija should take place by April 14.

Din Lonergans, the promoter of the fight, explained to dailytelegraph.com.au that it took four months to agree on the fight, citing the strict requirements of the deer promoter company Wasserman. He explained that the negotiations had been very difficult, and said that the details of the agreement were unbelievable, but that this was the case when it came to agreements with companies such as Wasserman.

Recently, Mairis Briedis had turned his attention to the international media with attempts to challenge Juber and the couple who fought Jake Paul. In his article, the media reported that “Opatija has broken Jake Paul.”

If Bried manages to defend his IBF title, the next step in his career could be a battle with Lawrence Ocholie to combine the IBF and World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion belts.

36-year-old Briedis has won 29 victories in his career as a professional boxer, 20 of whom have been killed. He suffered one loss – in the first semi-final of the WBSS season in Riga against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik. The deer fought its previous fight in October, when the German Arthur Mann was slaughtered in the third round.

Opetaya has spent 21 fights in a professional boxer career and has won all of them, but almost all fights took place in Australia. He holds two second-level belts – the WBO Global Champion title and the IBF Asia and Oceania Champion title.
