The Gimnasia y Esgrima Club develops a weekly open basketball campus of regional scope, which involves the staff of the National League, both professional players and coaching staff, in addition to training coaches. Around 70 boys and girls from 12 to 17 years old attended, from Comodoro, and other localities such as Río Gallegos, Pico Truncado, Esquel, Bariloche, among others.
It began on Friday and ends today, Sunday 27, taking place at the Founding Members plus a third field, where both the National League coaching staff and professional players provide different groups of stations with various specific fundamentals of the sport.
“It is a campus organized by the club, which has organized it on other occasions. This year we take it back. It is a campus open to all the boys of Comodoro and the region, for young people between 12 and 17 years old. It is dictated by the staff of the National League, the coaching staff and players, plus all the coaches of the club’s youth teams,” explained Pablo Ivanoff, president of the club.
For his part, Raúl Aguilar, technical assistant of the first team of the National League, said: “The club’s intention is the first thing I applaud. The intention as an institution to do this type of events that always does so well for the new generations of players. In this specific case, the initiative of the institution and the professional team, that both the coaching staff and professional players are committed to this undertaking. It is very important, which means for the boys, that the professional players whom they applaud and admire, can be with them sharing these types of events”.
