The coach of Atlético Nacional expressed his point of view about what the team did in the 3-1 loss at the hands of Olimpia in Defensores del Chaco.
There was a detail in the game that left the fans upset. Because if Nacional was strong in attack: when he was at 1-1 he got so far back? Defending instead of going for more?
That questioning, in some way, is made by Alejandro Restrepo himself. The coach left between the lines that his thinking in the game was similar to that of the fan. Find the win. What happened, on the contrary, only fueled his final frustration.
“I feel that in the second half the team wanted to go to the front after the goal. We were not intense, the team backed down. With the variants we wanted to generate scoring situations, but it was difficult for us to progress on the playing field”, Restrepo said.

Some optimism saves the coach for the return. He warns that it will be at another price and feels some comfort in the way his targets generate attacks. The coach spoke of “focusing on the good, on the ability to generate scoring situations and that at home we can get the result. It won’t be easy, but we have what it takes to do it.”
Within self-criticism there is something. Restrepo lamented that injuries altered his game plan. For example, “Yerson Candelo had identified the spaces to attack, Hayen Palacios played more inside, with caution so that Daniel Mantilla would attack more space. We needed to be deeper and that changed the game plan we were doing”.
The second leg, whose global score is 3-1 in favor of Olimpia, will be played on March 3 at the Atanasio Girardot stadium from 7:30 pm, Colombian time.
