The Pirates of the Basin finish second in the “Mary Read” tournament

For this second edition, four mixed teams were involved: the Raiders of Eysines (33), the Panthères of Pessac (33), the Lynx of Angoulême (16) and of course the Pirates of the Basin, hosts of the event.

Throughout the day, these teams competed in a good mood, Turpin room in La Teste, with a view to winning the trophy.

After the first two confrontations of the day, opposing the Panthers to the Raiders (6-11) and the Pirates to the Lynx (7-3), a trend is emerging, which will be confirmed during the two following confrontations and which sees Eysines unfold against Angoulême (14-2) and the locals find it more difficult to get rid of the Pessac club (8-6).

The last two meetings saw the best compete to decide the classification. In the end, for third place, Panthères and Lynx went blow for blow, with a victory over Pessac 4 to 3.

late wake up

Raiders and Pirates, both undefeated, clashed for the final victory. After a one-sided run in which the Raiders scored 8 points, the game was balanced, with the Pirates attempting a comeback. But the awakening of the Testerins was too late. The locals ended up losing 8 to 5. The Eysines Raiders therefore won the 2nd edition of the Mary Read tournament and succeeded the Rockies de Billère (64) winners in 2020.
