As the Russian-Ukrainian conflict intensifies with the entry into Ukraine of Russian armed troops, PSG and Saint-Etienne showed their support for Ukraine this Saturday.
Football is a mirror of society and the Paris Saint Germain knows it only too well. This Saturday, many clubs showed their support for Ukraine by calling for peace in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
This was the case at the Parc des Princes, where Parisians and Stéphanois, as well as the referees of the meeting, during the pre-match protocol, brandished a banner calling for “peace for all”.
A strong and striking gesture, to try to influence Russian abuses in Ukraine.
Earlier this Saturday, it was on the side of Liverpool that a tribute was paid to Ukraine on the occasion of the meeting of Premier League between Everton and Manchester City. Note that two Ukrainian players, Oleksandr Zinchenko (Man City) and Vitaliy Mykolenko (Everton) play for both clubs.
Everton had notably displayed Ukrainian flags during pre-match protocol, while City’s displayed flags on the back of their jackets pre-match.
