The Soria Basketball Club adds eight wins in the most intense weekend…

Junior A and Infantil A achieved two victories each in the most intense weekend of the season for the lower sections of Club Soria Baloncesto, in which, in addition, Infantil C achieved its second victory in eighteen games. There were, in total, eight clashes that opted for the side of the Soria Basketball Club, to which the Second Division Regional Championships of the different categories will give a break next weekend on the occasion of the Carnival celebration. Cadet A, who remains at the top of the classification, Infantil B and Infantil Feminino were also winners.

Junior A won on Saturday in Aranda de Duero (Burgos) against Juventud by 47-85 and achieved an even more comfortable victory on Sunday in Segovia, at the Claret stadium, by 65-103. Also in Aranda, against Juventud Pradorey and by a comfortable 39-72, Infantil A won their first victory of the weekend, beating Juventud Aranda on Sunday at the San Andrés Sports Center by 58-8. Against this same opponent, Infantil C reached its second victory of the season (44-42), after losing on Saturday against San Pablo Burgos Blanco by 56-6.
Cadet A beat Juventud Arquiplus 40-73, Infantil B beat Tizona B of Burgos 69-55 and Infantil Feminine prevailed 55-39 against Baloncesto Feminino Burgos Autoescuela Bulevar. Junior B fell 48-78 against Tizona B, Cadet B was defeated 37-88 against the same rival and Cadet Women lost 33-80 against the leader, CDU Valladolid. Fernando Flores’ Junior A did not play badly on Saturday in Aranda, despite the fact that he did not exhibit remarkable intensity, and he was very successful in attack on Sunday in Segovia, where he controlled the game from the beginning.

Infantil A won against Juventud Pradorey thanks to their good defensive work and their greater intensity in both the first and third quarters. On Sunday, against the bottom team, in a clash without any significance, Julio Pérez’s team took the opportunity to influence several new concepts of static attack. The Infantil C of Sergio García and Luis Martínez could do nothing on Saturday against the leader, who imposed his physical superiority and suffocating pressure, and beat the bottom player the next day in a clash with many personal fouls and in which his defense in the final minutes was decisive.

The new leader, Cadet A led by Jesús María Soto, who was already leading 7-18 at the end of the first quarter, comfortably resolved his match in Aranda de Duero. Víctor Sanz and Rubén Sanz’s Infantil B kept up the good pace throughout the match, was able to steal many balls thanks to his pressure and endorsed their improvement in static attack. The Children’s Women lost by one point at halftime, after a first half in which it was difficult for them to acquire rhythm, they suffered many losses and exhibited little success in the launch. In the second half, the game of Alberto González’s team improved, which was able to run on the counterattack and quickly secure the victory.

Víctor Sanz’s Junior B team, although they started winning 8-0, were disappointed that they could only count on six players against a more physical and intense rival. He started defending well and with a fast attack, something that declined when the forces disappeared. Rubén Sanz’s Cadet B played a good game, but absences and injuries conditioned his performance against a superior rival. The Women’s Cadet continues to take its toll on both the continuous turnovers and the errors in apparently easy baskets and they played a lousy last quarter (2-26) against the undefeated leader.
