Uruguayan referee Christian Ferreyra was the protagonist of an unusual play that happened on Wednesday in Rancagua during the match between Audax Italiano-Estudiantes de La Plata for the second round of the Copa Libertadores.
Near the end of the first half the Chilean team had a goal kick. Defender Fabián Torres came out playing alone from inside the areaso the referee should have sanctioned an indirect free kick for Estudiantes.

The Argentine team players served quickly and Gustavo Del Prete, former City Torque striker, took the opportunity to score the goal.
However, Ferreyra, after a moment of doubt, annulled the play and made gestures such as that he had never given the order to move the ball and ordered the serve to be executed again from the goal, in the face of protests from the pundits.
The match ended in a 1-0 victory for Audax and the rematch will be played next week.
