Ciudad Juárez.- With the fundamental purpose of promoting sports and having a healthy coexistence between the different ethnic groups that reside in the border region, the Basketball Tournament Between Indigenous Communities of Ciudad Juárez was held on this border.
The activities took place at the XXI Century Sports unit, located southeast of Ciudad Juárez, where the participants disputed control of the field of play, to score the ball in the basket.
In the lightning basketball tournament, there was a very good response with the representation of the Rarámuri, Chinanteca, and Mazahua communities, who live in Ciudad Juárez, as well as a team from the city of Chihuahua belonging to a Rarámuri community.
It is worth mentioning that this tournament is being held for the third time, and there has been a very active participation of indigenous peoples, significantly increasing the number of teams that compete, both in the men’s and women’s branches.
