Racing Club tied 0-0 with Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plataon the first day of the Argentine League Cup. Colombian Edwin Cardona debuted with the Academy at the El Cilindro stadium, and had his first 90 minutes in front of his new fans.
Cardona demonstrated his quality, his talent, his good punch; but he also showed that he lacks physical fitness and finish adapting to the idea of coach Fernando Gago, who lined him up playing on the left, with a changed profile.
Racing’s ’20’ showed his temper very early on: at 35 minutes, Cardona got into an argument with Brahian Alemán, Gimnasia’s ’10’, and both players received a yellow card.
Cardona, according to the comments in Argentina, was one of those who tried to do something different in Racing. His fine football stood out and that is why they expect a lot from the Colombian.
In the second half he looked for medium distance, although he preferred placement rather than power and his shot ended up in the hands of the Gimnasia goalkeeper.
The balance is acceptable for Edwin Cardona, who hopes to lead the next date a victory for Racing.
