A five-fold tie for first place with Colombian Camilo Aguado, Mexicans Armando Favela, Emilio González and Isidro Benítez, and American Josh Radcliff, occurred in the first round of the Professional Golf Tour, stage 8, which is played at the El Campanario Country Club in the City of Querétaro.
The five golfers signed a round of 67 hits (-5), the next group made up of three players signed 68 (-4). They were the Venezuelan Manuel Torres and the Mexicans Fernando Arzate and Manuel Munguía (amateur).
Those invited to participate for the first time in the Tour of Professionals in Mexico, Juan Manuel Martínez, champion of the South Zone Golf Cup weekend in Veracruz, and Manuel Barbachano, national leader in amateur golf, were placed in the places 25 and 50 of the board respectively, among a total of 78 participating golfers.
“I felt very good, I learned a lot in my first competition with the professionals. For the second round I will try to have the same patience”, said Manuel Martínez, who was invited to the event by the FMG and the Professional Golf Tour.
