Burnley-Tottenham could not continue at the end of November due to heavy snowfall. Fortunately, the calendar committee found a free spot in the packed calendar today to play the match.
On paper, beating Burnley, the slated relegator this season, should be a breeze for Kane and co. Especially after it tanked a barrel of confidence last weekend with a stunt against title favorite Manchester City.
But, as is often the case this season, Tottenham were unable to show any regularity. Son and Kane, who radiated a life-threatening urge to score against City, forgot to score in the first half against Burnley’s stiff block.
In the second half, the white people got the proverbial lid on their nose. Burnley captain Ben Mee headed in a perfectly shaped free kick from Josh Brownhill.
The defender throws his team a new lifeline in the English relegation swamp. Tottenham continues to muddle in the middle of the standings.
