Vince Carter has a simple tip for reviving the Slam Dunk Contest

The Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night was for many simply the worst in history. It’s been a long time since the competition has been dreamed of, with a few nice exceptions, but on Saturday we hit rock bottom with a festival of missed dunks, in particular by Jalen Greenof which much was expected. Vince Carterwinner of one of the best competitions in history, was the guest of Get Up to give their opinion and discuss a possible solution to relaunch the SDC.

“They’re trying to push the boundaries, they’re trying to raise the bar even higher and take it to the next level. There are some dunks where I was like, ‘mmm, these are dunks that are doable.’ People ask me a lot: ‘How to relaunch the Slam Dunk Contest?’ You just have to invest. I hated (Jalen) Green’s failed dunks. There are guys who are just there to participate and put on a show. But I wanted to put on the show and make it a perfect performance. I think when guys take that approach things will change. I don’t know what can be done. They tried to implement a wheel, it was a disaster. I would just like to see guys like, ‘Hey man, I’m gonna dunk, and I’m gonna set the bar high, and you, what are you gonna do?’ It was my approach. »

Yesterday, on Twitch, The 6th Man mentioned, among other things, his ideas for reviving a dunk contest that had become very dull.
