WNBA | The Sparks hit hard with Liz Cambage | NBA

Given her last Twitter post, we weren’t sure we’d see Liz Cambage back in the WNBA next season. But the 30-year-old Australian pivot has finally reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Sparks!

A dream come true for the former player of the Dallas Wings and Las Vegas Aces, who will be able to form an impressive racket with Nneka Ogwumike, under the orders of Derek Fisher.

During the last WNBA season, Liz Cambage (2m03) averaged 14.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.6 against with the Las Vegas franchise, beaten in the playoff semi-finals by the Phoenix Mercury.

Last in the Western Conference last season (12 wins – 20 losses), the Sparks thus intend to replay the leading roles with this signing, but also the arrival of Chennedy Carter, recovered during a trade with Atlanta, and that of the leader Jordin Canada, double champion (2018 and 2020) with Seattle.

But the Los Angeles franchise is far from the only WNBA team to have pulled out the heavy artillery this offseason, the Phoenix Mercury having, for example, signed Tina Charles, the league’s leading scorer (23.4 points) last season, who joins a squad that already includes Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and Skylar Diggins-Smith, and who reached the Finals last October, losing to Kahleah Copper’s Chicago Sky.
