Kylian Mbappe’s two goals against Saint-Etienne made the Paris Saint-Germain striker make a milestone. The 23-year-old striker equals Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mbappe became a star when PSG hosted Saint-Etienne in the continuation of the Ligue 1 competition. Playing at the Parc des Princes, Sunday (27/2/2022) early morning WIB, Mbappe was involved in three goals in the 3-1 victory for Les Parisiens.
In that match, Mbappe made two goals and one assist for PSG. The result was a milestone for Les Parisiens.
Two goals against Saint-Etienne mean Kylian Mbappe has now scored 156 goals for Paris Saint-Germain. That number is the second highest in the list of PSG’s all-time top scorers.
Mbappe’s record is the same as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s, who also scored 156 goals. While the top scorer is still held by Edinson Cavani, who can make 200 goals in Paris.
After the match against Saint-Etienne, Mbappe said he was happy with his achievements.
“It’s very special. To have the opportunity to match the record of a player like Ibrahimovic is fantastic. We all know what we are doing here, it means playing to a high standard,” Mbappe told PSG’s official website.
“To score at the parc des Princes and equal the record here is definitely special. Here at home, in front of the fans who have always supported us, so we are very happy. We have an important game ahead and we all want to go in the same direction, ” he said.
Kylian Mbappe himself is rumored to be leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. The former AS Monaco has not signed a new contract so far.
