Belinda Bencic is renouncing to take part in the Dubai tournament, which begins on Monday. The Olympic champion explained this week in St Petersburg that she has not recovered all of her lung capacity after suffering from the coronavirus in mid-December. She can’t train with the maximum intensity.
To return to a normal situation, she may have to wait between 2 and 3 months. However, she does not foresee a long break. During the matches, she says she is not bothered by her lungs. Bencic had won the Dubai tournament in 2019.
