Fans have never seen such a freak out … and neither have his tennis colleagues.
Alexander Zverev went completely nuts in Acapulco, Mexico, after losing in doubles – hit the referee’s chair several times with a tennis racket.
Nadal and Djokovic speak out
Djokovic told Serbian media: “The disqualification wasn’t too hard. I think she was right under the circumstances. Of course it’s tough for a player to be disqualified from a tournament.”
He continues: “I’ve made mistakes in the past that have thrown me into tantrums on the pitch. I understand what the player is going through. But of course, his actions are unjustifiable.”
Record Grand Slam winner Nadal also commented on Zverev’s behavior: “I think he deserves the penalty because you’re not allowed to act like that on the pitch.”
He continued: “I hope it’s a learning curve for him and for other young players who lose their nerve.”

Zverev apologized via Instagram hours after the incident. The tournament management excluded him from the individual competition. Therefore Zverev cannot defend his title.
