Argentinian made praise for the Polish striker, on stage, with the seventh Ballon d’Or in his career
When celebrating his seventh Ballon d’Or in his career, Lionel Messi did not forget his great rival in the 2021 fight, the Polish Robert Lewandowski, who deserved, in the Argentine’s opinion, a distinction for last year.
“It has been an honor to compete with you. I think France Football should award your 2020 with the Ballon d’Or, you deserved that”, he said, still on stage.
It is recalled that, last year, due to Covid-19, France Football decided not to hold the gala and to distinguish a footballer with the Golden Ball.
